Malta Citizenship by investment

The Government of Malta Act No 47 of 2014 governs the Malta Citizenship by Investment initiative, which was launched by the government of Malta in 2014. Furthermore, Malta joined the European Union in 2004. Malta, an archipelago in the Mediterranean Sea and a republic in Southern Europe, is formally known as the Republic of Malta. It is located 333 kilometres north of Libya, 80 km south of Italy and 284 km east of Tunisia. Malta is a part of the European Union, Schengen Area, United Nations, and Council of Europe, among other important international organizations.

Malta is the most powerful passport in the world and it’s valid for 10 years. You can then renew this for a further 10 years. The Malta passport is ranked seventh in the world and permits visa-free travel to more than 170 countries. To become a citizen of Malta, you must invest EUR 600,000 for a minimum of five years in financial instruments approved by the government and contribute a minimum of Euro 650,000 to the national development fund established by the government. Every application goes through a rigorous due diligence procedure that includes extensive background checks. The capable Maltese government agency in charge of enforcing the rules is the Community Malta Agency.
